How to use FlashFXP FTP client behind Proxy+

Question:
I want to use FlashFXP FTP client (
http://www.flashfxp.com ) behind Proxy+. What are the proper settings?

Answer:
FlashFXP supports proxies and it works behind Proxy+.

Instructions:
In following example we assume the Proxy+ is running on the PC with 192.168.0.1 IP address, the FTP gateway is enabled (Proxy Settings\Proxies\General) and it is using the port 21 (default value).

Run FlashFXP and go to its Options\Preferences menu (or press the F6 key). Select Proxy & Ident setup tab and set there following options as shown in the picture:

flashfxp1.gif (8180 bytes)

When you are connecting to the remote FTP server be sure the session isn't  configured to bypass Proxy:

Quick connect (F8) properties:

flashfxp3.gif (4754 bytes)

Site manager properties (Sites\Site manager - F4):

flashfxp4.gif (10173 bytes)

The FlashFXP FTP client supports SOCKS protocol so you can use following settings of proxy properties too:

flashfxp2.gif (7156 bytes)

You should know when it is using the SOCKS protocol the FlashFXP uses Passive (PASV) mode of transfers of files and directory listings. Some servers may not support the mode (when the maintainer disabled the mode for example).
You have to enable Proxy+'s SOCKS server (Proxies\General WWW Admin page) too, of course. And you needn't FTP gateway (if you are not runnign another FTP client which use it).

Note: When you use SOCKS protocol then resuming of downloaded files should work fine.
